5 Reasons to Stop Star Wars

Did you think the nuclear arms race was over? Think again. President Clinton wants to build a national missile defence (Star Wars) system, which will encourage other countries like Russia and China to increase their nuclear forces.

The United States plans to conduct a crucial test for the "Star Wars" System this weekend, (July 7th). President Clinton is preparing to decide on whether or not to deploy the controversial system later this summer. The United States is taking the world on a slippery slope toward a new nuclear arms race.

From former US Defence Secretaries, ambassadors, and senators to scholars and religious leaders, a growing number of people are lining up to tell President Clinton that Star Wars is the wrong idea at the wrong time.

5 Reasons to Stop Star Wars
* Star Wars will not make anyone safer--it will start a new arms race.
* Star Wars is technically flawed and will not work.
* Star Wars will waste billions of dollars.
* Star Wars is a response to a threat that doesn't exist.
* Star Wars will ruin our chance for a world free of nuclear weapons.

Tell President Clinton to Stop Star Wars!
