This is a very informative and readable sight with alot of interesting and well covered issues.
June 14th 2000
I have been going through context.co.nz site. I find that I am interested in a number of issues raised in the site. The site would take many visit to grasp fully what it contains.
Only later last night, I got to Sri Lanka issues. It has been covered well, giving a humanitarian and balanced perspective. I feel that is important, as only a few journalist/ analyst keep that balance. BBC is one for sure. Most other journalists, particularly those based in SL, choose to report what Defence Ministry of Sri Lanka says. If you want any opinion columns and such, I am happy to provide some input.

Excellent work, importantly the sense of balance and honesty are very good.
At first glance, the layout appears a bit cluttered, but actually does provide a lot of information.
May 21st 2000:
I 've spend some time surfing your context web site and I reckon it's a cool one. I like the some of the issues that you put in your web sites.
May 15, 2000:
I reckon an email version with the actual links in it would be much more popular as an email news subscription service... at the moment. You have to go through context.co.nz as a portal.... Certainly I reckon a mix of the harvested links and then a batch of links to the Context.co.nz subject areas would be more useful anyway.
April 8, 2000:
The click through rate on the (context.co.nz) catch ad displayed on www.scoop.co.nz is absolutely extraordinary. I reckon it might be being used as a gateway by regular surfers. .... it is close to 5% now which is unheard of. Or maybe it is just the ad?

Awsome! There is nothing like this anywhere!

All this information on one site is absolutely marvellous, not to mention the diversity of subject matter. I found this site by chance, please do not change the format --- you have a winner.
May 10th 2000:
I'm surprised that you have no comments or coverage re the Waitara shooting. What is your position on naming the police officer involved? Do you subscribe to the notion that the general public has no right to know at this stage? Personally as the Court says its ok to publish, I think news websites should have a "click here if you want to know" option, otherwise you're just practising censorship of public information (something a site of your type especially should not be practicing!).

"You have a great site and are to be congratulated for assembling such a focused point of view. Great information design, it's great to encounter such savviness."

After the heroic war tha NATO troops conducted against the serb oppressors, in Kosovo, the French contingent controlling Mitrovica was allowed to shamefully divide the city into two parts. This is a remiscence of old times when the Serb Kingdom and France were allies in the Balkans. Mitrovica is part of Kosova and purely Albanian. And such it will remain. Even if it takes 100 years. We Albanians are used to suffering such injustices during history. We have always survived and always will. NATO should resolve Mitrovica issue as soon as possible so that it can continue to be viewed as a liberator. French soldiers should leave Mitrovica. I know Albania and Albanians, you won't be able to keep them on that bridge for long. They will cross one day, whatever the cost. This is a dirty Belgrade conducted game and NATO should not fall into this trap. Hope my modest opinions will be helpful.

Excellent web site! After seeing your banner 12 - 16 times on NZAD's banner exchange... I clicked and found a better more informative site than I ever imagined.

I asked several days ago, your position on the sales of nuclear technology to China (PRC).
You responded that "...I could guess".
I'm sorry but I can't guess, and feel that it is strange that you carry articles on your site re nuclear energy, but fail to address this issue. Why are you so coy about it ?
March 16th 2000
Please advise re ideologically sound position re sales of advanced nuclear power technology to the PRC. thanx.
March 16th 2000
Please continue to agitate for full RMA procedures re West Coast logging. Your recently publicised support gives great encouragement.

What a brilliant site you run! I will gladly link to it, and thank you for returning the favour. We have a long way to go, though.

Love the site. I got it off the news server from someone. I am very sceptical of Govt. & Justice system .

I found your site through a Christchurch ecoweb email newsletter. They recommended taking a look!
Nov 29, ‘99
Wow...what an amazing site! I can't believe I haven't come across it sooner. How do you manage to run a site like this???
Nov 23, ‘99
hi there, you have an excellent looking site. Congratulations on your response re: Jenny Shipley phone list, very well put.

Context is a fabulous site. I feel we are on the same wavelength

I was half-thinking that perhaps a return of treason laws which include the death penalty would be a good thing. Then past politicians could be put on trial where it could be reasonably shown that their deliberate actions or omissions constituted a serious danger to the country's economic security.... I would argue that elected representatives hold our economy in trust and a fair measure of responsibility must be accepted by them if things go wrong.... As it stands, they accept any successes with alacrity, so really the basis for such a system is already in place. I understand that China has a system which allows for economic crimes to be prosecuted. Though no fan of the Chinese government myself, there is some potential gain from studying their actions. Perhaps even some "show trials" where actors play the parts....it has been done elsewhere, from memory...

I'm trying to get a message about possums and genetic engineering out to as many activists - and others - as possible, and would like to forward a copy of it to you and your site.
Nov 18, ‘99
Some Y2K info would be nice on your site.... Thanks.

Nov 16, ’99

Nov 14, ’99
I LUV your site! It's so cool! It deals with exactly the kind of issues that we (as teens) are intersted in today. Keep it up! P.S Bomber is da bomb, and I hope the person that leaked those phone numbers, and posted them here DOESN"T get caught!
Nov 15, ’99
Your site has some awesome imformation...excellent.
Nov 14, ’99
awsome site!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nov 14, ’99
In regard to your site I think that it is an awesome contribution to debate on pertinent topics. All the best with it.
Nov 14, ’99
Great to see your site... it's refreshing to see challenging content with a philosophy of promoting debate.
Nov 13, ’99
A site which caters to those of us who still think. I live part of each year in Ireland and each time I return to New Zealand, I am horrified at what is happening here. This country is shell-shocked, accepting any kind of change, regardless. The end result is becoming obvious.
Nov 13, ’99
Thank's for the context.co site
Nov 13, ’99
I ought to do a news story about your leaked phone list for …… on Monday. On that basis, can you tell me any more about how the list came to be leaked? Was it leaked or just lying around? Have you been contacted by the authorities yet?
Nov 11, ’99
We have been touring the country for two months raising awareness of GE by talking to people in the streets of over 35 towns. In Masterton on Tuesday we had a chap tell us he had heard an American expert on Radio saying how we NEED Genetic Engineering and that organics will mean disaster etc. We wondered who the hell would be advocating these things - and I've just found out by reading your press release …... Which led me to this site - congratulations. Thank you for putting out the Avery Press release and I hope it is being circulated widely. thanks again.
Nov 10, ’99
I agree totally with your sentiments. Avery is a hired hand to push the chemical/GE agenda of the multinationals. Like you, I was absolutely aghast at the untruths and half truths he put across yesterday - my disgust with him was exceeded only by my disgust at Sean Plunket's sycophantic responses - yuk!
I have spent many months campaigning all around NZ on the anti-GE, anti-chemical, anti-free-trade and pro-organics, pro-fair trade trail so Avery's male bovine excrement is easy to pull apart. But it is such a pain that Morning Report gave him such a free run at his topic without the opportunity for rebuttal from myself or …….

Thank you for telling me about your site its great. Could you please put a link to our group’s site? Regards

"This context.co is an amazing source of information. I have immediately put in my 'favourites' list. I haven't worked out how organisations - or web sites such as this make money - I am sure they are not there just for other people's interest. ?"
